The workshop will take place with a maximum of 5 participants, which allows us to give each participant plenty of time and address each one personally.
This workshop is specifically designed for beginners who have never played a handpan before, do not yet own an instrument, and want to get to know and try out the instrument first.
In the workshop, each participant will receive a loan instrument from us free of charge for the workshops.
In the workshop we will work together on the following topics:
History of the Handpan
Quality features of good handpans
Basic striking techniques
Different sounds of a handpan
Playing arpeggios
Application of the scale in playing the melodies
Differences between handpans (tuning, material, sound characteristics)
Objectives of the workshop:
After participating in our handpan workshop, you'll be better able to decide which handpan tuning suits you, as you've had the opportunity to try out different models. By learning the first melodies and rhythms, you'll be optimally prepared for playing with the handpan and can decide whether you want to take further lessons. If you're completely captivated by the handpan, you have the option of ordering a handpan for purchase or rental.
Our workshops are aimed at everyone who wants to get to know a handpan personally.
Those who are considering learning a new musical instrument, would like to try out different handpan tunings, or are interested in buying or renting a handpan.
You don't need to bring this to the Magic Handpan Workshop: Your own handpan – we will provide all the instruments.
No previous musical knowledge is necessary. We'll work through everything together from the beginning.
